The photo is of the Clinch River, from Sugar Grove Valley Road in Kingston.
I did a short distance (43 miles) today instead of a rest day. I went off-route to visit Oak Ridge where I spent a couple hours in the Museum of Science and Energy. Of course there was not a word questioning the use of atomic energy, but it was interesting nevertheless.
While passing through one of the numerous small Tennessee towns I noticed
a panel truck with the name of a church pew reupholstery company on the
side. My first thought was that a company that only reupholsters church
pews is awfully over-specialized. On the other hand, there is an
incredible number of churches here in the Bible belt. It seems like
every tiny hamlet has at least two or three.
