Just based on mileage, I think the stop for today must have been Harrison, AK. Nothing much happened other than I mailed home my shortwave ham radio equipment, reducing my payload by about 4.5 pounds. I'll have to weigh them when I get home, but I think my panniers, their contents, and all my camping gear are well under 40 pounds now.
I have to compliment Arkansas drivers. Much of the day was spent
on shoulder-less roads with heavy traffic, including one section
of 4-lane highway that was down to two lanes because of
construction. Although people had to slow down and navigate
carefully around us, I only remember one ambiguous beep that
might or might not have been a sign of impatience.
